Romeo And Juliet Act Five Scene One

Place: Mantua Street

Time: Wednesday Morning

Characters: Balthazar arrives and informs Romeo of Juliet’s ‘death’. It is here we learn he has not received the letter from the Friar and Romeo sets off to an Apothecary to buy some poison.

Quote: “There is thy gold, worse poison to men’s souls.”

Romeo And Juliet Act four Scene Five

Place: Juliet’s bedroom

Time: Wednesday Morning

Characters: Nurse, Lady Capulet, Capulet, Paris, Friar Lawrence, Musicians, Peter.

Nurse finds Juliet dead in her bed and everyone gathers from the noises of destress coming from the room. Everyone shares their opinions on the horrible day and the act ends with a disagreement with Peter and the Musicians on music.

Quote: “Come, is the bride ready to come to church?” “Ready to go but never return. O son, the night before thy wedding day hath Death lain with thy wife.”

Romeo And Juliet act Four Scene Four

Place: Capulet house

Time: Wednesday morning. About 3am

Characters: Capulet, Lady Capulet, Nurse, Servingmen.

Capulet is speeding the wedding along. He sends Nurse to wake Juliet.

Quote: “Come, stir, stir, stir! The second cock hath crow’d, the curfew bell hath rung. ’tis three a’clock. Look to the bak’d meats, good Angelica, spare not for the cost.”

Romeo And Juliet Act Four Scene Three

Place: Capulet household

Time: Tuesday night

Characters: Juliet, Nurse, Lady capulet

Juliet is ready to take the liquid in the vial. She is scared however that something will go wrong and she will be stuck there forever, playing with corpses.

Quote: “And madly play with my forefathers joints, and pluck the mangl’d Tybalt from his shroud, and in rage, with some great kinsman’s bone, as a club, dash out my desperate brains?

Romeo And Juliet Act Four Scene Two

Place: Capulet household

Time: Tuesday aftrenoon

Characters: Capulet, servingman, Nurse, Lady Capulet

Preparations for the wedding are on schedule when Juliet arrives and pleads for her father’s forgiveness and how she is ‘happy’ to marry Paris. In joy, Capulet brings the wedding forward by a day, tomorrow.

Quote: Juliet: “Pardon, I beseech you! Henceforward I am ever ruled by you.” Capulet: ” Send for the county, go tell him of this. I’ll have this knot knit up tomorrow morning”

Romeo and Juliet Act Four Scene One

Place: Friar Lawrence’s cell

Time: Tuesday Morning

Characters: Paris, Friar Lawrence, Juliet.

Paris and Juliet finally meet and Juliet is revolted by his character and pleads Friar to think of a plan or she will kill herself. Friar comes up with a plan for her to seem dead on the day of the Marriage. Juliet agrees to the plan.

Quote: “Tell me not, Friar, that thou hearest of this, unless thou tell me how I may prevent it. If in thou wisdom thou canst give no help, do thou but call my resolution wise, and with this knife I’ll help it presently.”

Romeo and Juliet Act Three Scene Five

Place: Capulet household

Time: Tuesday morning

Characters: Romeo, Juliet, Lady Capulet, Capulet, Nurse

Romeo and Juliet meet, talk a bit and as Romeo leaves Lady Capulet arrives and inform Juliet of her marriage on Thursday. Juliet openly disagrees when Capult arrives and threatens her with banishment unless she marries Paris.

Quote: “We will have vengeance for it, fear thou not: Then weep no more. I’ll send yo one in Mantua, where that same banished runagate doth live, shall give him such an unaccustomed dram, that he shall give Tybalt company, and then I hope thou wilt be satisfied

Romeo and Juliet Act Three Scene Four

Place: Capulet household

Time: Monday, Late Evening

Characters: Capulet, Paris

Paris and Capulet decide to marry Juliet to Paris on Thursday.

Quote: ” Monday, ha, ha! Well, Wednesday is too soon, A’Thursday let it be-a’Thursday, tell her she shall be married to his nobel earl.”

Romeo and Juliet Act Three Scene Three

Place: Friar Lawrence’s cell

Time: Monday afternoon

Characters: Friar Lawrence, Romeo, Nurse

Romeo has just received the news of his banishment and is hiding in Friar Lawrence’s cell. Nurse finds them and tells them of Juliet’s plans to kill herself. Nurse and Friar Lawrence then convince Romeo to not kill himself either. Romeo rushes to Juliet.
