Romeo and Juliet Act One Scene Two Summarised

Place: Streets of Verona, Italy.

Time: Sunday afternoon.

Characters: Capulet, Paris, The Clown, Servant, Romeo, Benvolio.

Capulet, Paris and the clown are walking down the street, talking of Paris’s love for Juliet and how Montague has equal say in the matter as Juliet. Montague invites Paris to Montague’s party and gives a written list to an illiterate servant. The servant bumps into Romeo and Benvolio who read the list of guests and invite themselves.

Lincoln: Did you just insult us?!

Simpson: Yeah, got a problem with that?

Lincoln: I do actually, i’ll ask again, did you just insult us??!

Simpson: [Aside to Greg] Will we have a legal advantage if I say yes?

Greg: No.

Simpson: I didn’t insult you but I did insult someone else.

Greg: Do wanna fight us?

Lincoln: Fight! Nah.

Simpson: If you want to fight, I’ll come for you, my family is as good as yours.

Lincoln: No better.

Simpson: Ok then.

Greg: [Aside to simpson] Say better, here comes our cousin, we’ll have an advantage.

Simpson: Actually, our family is better than yours,way better.

Lincoln: Lies!

Simpson: Fight if you are men. Greg, remember to strike hard and true.
