Time: Tuesday night

Characters: Juliet, Nurse, Lady capulet

Juliet is ready to take the liquid in the vial. She is scared however that something will go wrong and she will be stuck there forever, playing with corpses.

Quote: “And madly play with my forefathers joints, and pluck the mangl’d Tybalt from his shroud, and in rage, with some great kinsman’s bone, as a club, dash out my desperate brains?

Place: Capulet household

Time: Tuesday aftrenoon

Characters: Capulet, servingman, Nurse, Lady Capulet

Preparations for the wedding are on schedule when Juliet arrives and pleads for her father’s forgiveness and how she is ‘happy’ to marry Paris. In joy, Capulet brings the wedding forward by a day, tomorrow.

Quote: Juliet: “Pardon, I beseech you! Henceforward I am ever ruled by you.” Capulet: ” Send for the county, go tell him of this. I’ll have this knot knit up tomorrow morning”

Place: Friar Lawrence’s cell

Time: Tuesday Morning

Characters: Paris, Friar Lawrence, Juliet.

Paris and Juliet finally meet and Juliet is revolted by his character and pleads Friar to think of a plan or she will kill herself. Friar comes up with a plan for her to seem dead on the day of the Marriage. Juliet agrees to the plan.

Quote: “Tell me not, Friar, that thou hearest of this, unless thou tell me how I may prevent it. If in thou wisdom thou canst give no help, do thou but call my resolution wise, and with this knife I’ll help it presently.”

Place: Capulet household

Time: Tuesday morning

Characters: Romeo, Juliet, Lady Capulet, Capulet, Nurse

Romeo and Juliet meet, talk a bit and as Romeo leaves Lady Capulet arrives and inform Juliet of her marriage on Thursday. Juliet openly disagrees when Capult arrives and threatens her with banishment unless she marries Paris.

Quote: “We will have vengeance for it, fear thou not: Then weep no more. I’ll send yo one in Mantua, where that same banished runagate doth live, shall give him such an unaccustomed dram, that he shall give Tybalt company, and then I hope thou wilt be satisfied

Place: Capulet household

Time: Monday, Late Evening

Characters: Capulet, Paris

Paris and Capulet decide to marry Juliet to Paris on Thursday.

Quote: ” Monday, ha, ha! Well, Wednesday is too soon, A’Thursday let it be-a’Thursday, tell her she shall be married to his nobel earl.”

Place: Friar Lawrence’s cell

Time: Monday afternoon

Characters: Friar Lawrence, Romeo, Nurse

Romeo has just received the news of his banishment and is hiding in Friar Lawrence’s cell. Nurse finds them and tells them of Juliet’s plans to kill herself. Nurse and Friar Lawrence then convince Romeo to not kill himself either. Romeo rushes to Juliet.

Place: Capulet Household

Time: Night

Characters: Juliet, Nurse

Juliet is anxiously waiting for Romeo to return. Nurse sees Juliet and tells her of a tragic death. Juliet thinks its Romeo until Nurse eventually explains it’s Tybalt who has died and Romeo has killed him. She then explains he has been exiled from Verona (a fate worse than death). Juliet is first furious with him but after reflection that Tybalt would have killed Romeo and it was either Tybalt or Romeo to die.

Quote: “There’s no trust, no faith, no honesty in men, all perjur’d, all forsworn, all naught, all dissemblers.”

Place: Streets of Verona

Time: Monday afternoon

Characters: Mercutio, Benvolio, Montague Servingmen, Romeo, Tybalt, Capulet Servingman, Officer, Prince Escalus, Lady Capulet, Montague

Mercutio, Benvolio and some of his men are heading home when they run into Tybalt and some of his men. Tybalt is looking for Romeo and coincidently, Romeo appears. Tybalt issues a challenge for a dual and Romeo refuses. In outrage, Mercutio unsheathed his sword and prepares to fight. Romeo steps in between them and Mercutio is stabbed under Romeo’s arm. Mercutio dies and in rage Romeo kills Tybalt. Romeo flees the scene as Prince Escalus and family members from both houses appear. The family members can’t decide who to blame so Prince Escalus decides to banish Romeo and kill him on sight.

Quote: “Prince: Romeo slew him, he slew Mercutio. Who now the price of his dear blood doth owe? Montague: Not Romeo, Prince, he was Mercutio’s friend. His life concludes but what the law should end, The life of Tybalt. Prince: And for that offence immediately we do exile him hence.

Place: Friar Lawrence’s cell

Time: Monday afternoon

Characters: Friar Lawrence, Romeo, Juliet

Romeo and Juliet meet and are married *off scene for the audience*.

Place: Capulet household

Time: Monday afternoon

Characters: Nurse, Juliet

Juliet is waiting for a very late Nurse to arrive and tell her about Romeo’s marriage arrangements. Nurse arrives and tells Juliet to go to Friar Lawrence’s cell immediately. Juliet is overjoyed and goes there.

Quote: “The clock struck nine when is did send the Nurse… and from nine to twelve is three long hours, yet she is not come.”
